‘Bua an Eolais’ (The Gift of Knowledge), a projection installation to celebrate the opening of the Convention Centre Dublin, mingles the mythical and the modern quest for the acquisition of knowledge. Set in a romantic nightscape that roots itself in a Celtic forest the work flows seamlessly from the legend of the young Fionn MacCumhail, who acquires all the worlds wisdom by being the first to eat the Salmon of Knowledge, albeit following a minor culinary accident, to the modern facilitator of ideas exchange that The CCD is designed to be.
‘Bua an Eolais’ was a projection installation to celebrate the opening of The Convention Centre Dublin, which repeated on a loop between 9pm-12pm, from 7th-12th September. The installation was aimed to delight the casual passerby while framing the stunning architecture of Kevin Roche.
